Origin/meaning

Shawnee Chief Tecumseh, head of the Indian Inhabitants who first occupied the part of Ohio, where the Battalion now is stationed, is symbolised by the Star alluding to the meaning of his Name "Shooting Star" and the Pipe Tomahawk. The Later also symbolises the Warrior Spirit of the Battalion. The Communications and Electronic Warfare Capabilities of the Battalion is indicated by the Lightning Flashes. The Embattlements in the Chief symbolises the Engineer function of the Battalion. The Red Roundel refers both to the Flag of Ohio and the Insignia of the 37th "Buckeye" Division. The Motto is from a Speach held by Chief Tecumseh.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia, was both approved on 1 November 2007.
