Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1955.

The grill symbolises St Lawrence patron of the Church of Steneby and the hundred of Vedbo. The former seal of the hundred showed the saint holding the grill.

The bordure symbolises the ancient Fortification at a hill near Steneby Church. The tinctures are form the arms of the Province of Dalsland.
