Sveg kommunvapen

Official blason

I fält av silver en av vågskuror bildad sänkt blå sparre, ovan åtföljd av två svarta grankvistar.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 19, 1960 to Sveg Rural Municipality and continued by the Sveg town and municipality.

The wavy chevron refers to the name sveg, which means a river bend, and thus to the Ljusnan river in the municipality. The pine branches refer to the importance of the local forests and forestry. The colours are those of the Härjedalen province.
