Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on October 2, 2002.

The arms refer to the landscape of Szczawnica; the Bryjarka mountain with a cross the Dunajec river and the spa character of the town.

The previous arms were adopted on December 28, 1990.

These arms show the local mountains and the rock of Kotońka with the river Dunajec flowing around it, and a small fountain for the spa character of the town.
