THE INNISKILLINGS (6TH DRAGOONS), BRITISH ARMY

History: Raised in 1689 as [Albert] Cunningham's Dragoons, becoming in 1751 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons. In 1922 almagamated with the 5th Dragoon Guards (Princess Charlotte of Wales's), British Army to form the 5th/6th Dragoon Guards.

Origin/meaning

The Castle refers to the Castle of Enniskillen in the Town of the same name. From which the Regiment got its Name.
