THE LOYAL REGIMENT (NORTH LANCASHIRE), BRITISH ARMY
History: Raised in 1741 as the Mordaunt's Regiment (47th Foot in 1748) and in 1793 as The 81st, or Loyal Lincoln Volunteers, Regiment. Those two Regiments in 1881 become 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. In 1921 Redesignated Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire). In 1970 amalgamated with The Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Volunteers), British Army to form The Queen's Lancashire Regiment, British Army.
