Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1959.The arms show two boats in a blue field. These symbolise the North Sea and the Limfjord coasts and the boats represent the type of ships used on these waters. The golden bar represents the Amt between the waters and the plough symbolises the agricultural character of the region.
