Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on October 19, 2009.
Thorsby has many inhabitants of Swedish origin and the arms were designed by the Swedish Heraldry Association. The T is derived from the hammer of Thor, the Germanic god after which the town is named (see also Tórshavn). The hammer is shpaed more like a T, as the town's initial. The peaches are a major local crop. The colours are the Swedish colours.
