Torredembarra.jpg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 15, 1998.

Canting arms: they show traditionally two towers with a bar in the door ("torres amb barra" in Catalan), surmounted by a cross potent, and a hand between them. The wavy bars represent the Mediterranean sea (Torredembarra is a tourist town placed on the Costa Daurada). The local castle, that belonged to the Icards since 1523, became the centre of the barony of Torredembarra, as it's shown by the baron's crown at the top of the arms.
