Origin/meaning
The village of Trzebinia has existed since the Middle Ages (first written records come from the 12th century). In 1817 it became a town and later an important industrial and railway centre.
The coat of arms was re-adopted in 1990 and is based on earlier arms. It consists of a six-pointed star, a crescent and a Maltese cross, all golden against the blue background.
From 1977-1990 the town used different arms, see below. These arms combined the Polish eagle with an industrial hammer, which, at the same time, formed half the town's initial.
