USAF HERITAGE OF AMERICA BAND, US AIR FORCE

History: Constituted as Air Force Band, Barksdale Field, Shreveport, LA, and activated on 1 October 1941. Redesignated as: 64 Army Air Forces Band on 10 August 1942; 564 Army Band on 21 December 1943; 564 Army Air Forces Band on 26 February 1944; 564 Air Force Band on 26 September 1947; 564 Tactical Air Command Band on 15 December 1989; Tactical Air Command Band on 1 October 1991; Air Combat Command Heritage of America Band on 1 June 1992; United States Air Force Heritage of America Band on 9 May 1997.
