Escudo de Uceda

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 20, 1991.

The arms already appear on the oldest seal of the city, dating from 1258. The same composition appeared on the seal from the 14th century. The arms indicate the medieval fortress in the city, whereas the meaning of the stars and crescent are not clear. They could indicate the victory of the Christians over the Moors (crescent), but may also have other religious or simply decorative meaning.
