UNTERNBERG (BEI TAMSWEG)

State : Salzburg
District : Tamsweg

Wappen von Unternberg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 16, 1971.

In 2003 King Heinrich II granted Hartwig, Archbishop of Salzburg, a large estate in the present municipality, which should fall to the Nonnberg Convent after his death. This is shown in the arms by the crown and the three balls taken from the arms of the convent.

The wavy bar refers to the Mur river, the miner's tools to the former mining in the area.
