Official blazon

I fält av guld en S:ta Birgittagestalt – med gloria, dok, klädnad och skor av silver – sittande i en röd stol, skrivande med gåspenna i en bok, båda av silver; ansikte och händer av guld.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1938. It was re-used in 1980 and officially registered in 1989.

The arms show the local patron saint, St. Brigitta and are derived from the 15th century seal of the city.
