Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 7, 1994.

Vallmoll means "damp valley", but "moll" is also the Catalan name for red mullet, the red sea fish. Hence the red fishes in the arms of Vallmoll. Of course, they have nothing to do with the village, which is situated 15 km from the sea.
The local castle became the centre of the barony of Vallmoll in the 15th century, and the arms show the baron's crown at the top.
