Origin/meaning

The chevron is derived from the arms of the Bude family, Lords of Villiers sur Marne from the 15th century on.

The three grapes symbolise the former vineyards in Villiers sur Marne. Because of nostalgy, the mayor of Villiers sur Marne has planted vines on a piece of land along the "rue des Chapelles". Wine is sold by auction (the production is nowadays merely symbolic).
