Arms of Vilnius (county)

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 20, 1999.

It is the extended variant of Vilnius District Municipality arms, enlarged by the blue bend with ten Jogaila's Crosses (this variant of apostolic cross is one of symbols of Lithuania). The arms symbolise the wider Vilnius region.

Historically the Vilnius province also use dthe same symbols.
