Origin/meaning :
The arms were officialy granted on February 21, 2007. The arms were newly designed after the municipal reform of 2007. I have no information on the meaning of these arms. Any information is welcome !

Before 2007 Vordingborg used the arms as shown below :

These arms are based on a seal known from 1501, which probably dates from the 14th century. The arms show the Vordingborg castle and the Masnedsund bay. The small figures above the castle are unexplained. All later seal, with one exception, and images show the same composition. Only the seal from 1610 shows the letters IHS.
