WEISSENSBERG

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Lindau

Wappen von Weissensberg/Arms (crest) of Weissensberg
Official blazon
German Gespalten; vorne in Silber eine dreilatzige rote Fahne mit goldenen Fransen, hinten in Blau ein schwebendes goldenes Doppelkreuz.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 22, 1980.

The banner is taken from the arms of the Counts of Montfort and stymbolises that the area belonged to the Montfort county for several centuries. The cross is the symbol for the Holy Ghost Hospital in Lindau, which had many possessions in the municipality.
