Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on ??

The elephant symbolises strength, the pot the traditional handicrafts, the cog wheel the industry. The two supporters are local hornbills, the two horns below the shield are Nguni horns and symbolise prosperity. The motto 'Inqubekela Phambili Ngobuqotho' means 'Service delivery with integrity'. Behing the shield are two Zulu weapons, the assegai and the knob kerrie. The crest is a traditional Zulu headring with a sun for hope.
