Merged 1925 with the Diocese of Poggio Mirteto to Diocese of Sabina-Poggio Mirteto

The diocese is one of the suburbicarian sees. The diocese has been traditionally been ruled by one of the highest ranking cardinals in Rome as (titular) bishop. Since 1962 these tasks have been split in the titular cardinal-bishops and diocesan bishops.
