Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 7, 1989.
This municipality was formed in 1971 when the former ones of Escaló, Unarre and Jou merged into a new one. The three elements are, respectively, the attributes of each local patron saint: the Christ's nails for St. Helena, the palm for St. Julian and the cross for St. Peter.
