LOTTA SVÄRD ORGANISATION, FINLAND

History: The Lotta Svärd Organisation was a Volunteer Women's Auxiliary supporting the Finnish Armed Forces. It existed 1920-1944, and was named for a Person in the Book "Fänrik Ståls sägner" by Johan Ludvig Runeberg, dealing with the Swedish-Russian War 1808-1809.
