In 1900 the State Archives proposed new arms, as the letter P had, besides as village sign, no historical meaning. The new arms show the cross of [[Speyer]], combined with the roses of the Counts of Eberstein. The village belonged to the Bishops of Speyer, but the Counts of Eberstein held the area in loan from the bishops. | In 1900 the State Archives proposed new arms, as the letter P had, besides as village sign, no historical meaning.
