Blue and white symbolizes the Infantry roots of the Regiment. The Lion symbolizes the power of a Tank Regiment. The Anchor symbolises support of the 4th Marine Division at Saipan and Tinian, for which the Presidental Unit Citation (Navy) streamer was awarded. The Red flukes symbolizes heavy casulaties sustained on these landings. The Flash alludes to speed and firepower of a Armoured Regiment. The fleur-de-lis is for service in France and the Taeguk for Korea. The blue and white demi-circle is for service in Europe, the Pacific Islands and Korea. Grant of Arms given 15 March 1984.
