The bordure in the arms is derived from the arms of the [[Bourgogne]] region. The chief shows two water-mill wheels, symbolising the two former water mills in the municipality, which were of great importance in historical times.
The bordure in the arms is derived from the arms of the [[Bourgogne]] region. The chief shows two water-mill wheels, symbolising the two former water mills in the municipality, which were of great importance in historical times. They were operated by the monks of Saint Marien with the peasants and serfs of the town.

I have no information on the other symbols.
