History: Raised in 1741 as the 54th Foot (43rd Foot in 1748) and in 1755 as the 54th Foot (52nd Foot in 1757). These two Regiments in 1881 become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Oxfordshire Light Infantry. Redesignated in 1908 as the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. In 1958 redesignated 1st Green Jackets (43rd and 52nd) and in 1968 amalgamated with the 2nd Greed Jackets (The King's Royal Rifle Corps) and the 3rd Green Jackets (The Rifle Brigade) to form [[The Royal Green Jackets, British Army]]
