The arms are based on the arms of a Whealon family from Ireland to symbolise the last name of the Archbishop. The bend with lozenges and the chief with the two fleur-de-lys are taken from the arms of that family. The middle fleur-de-lys in the Whealon arms has been replaced by a crown. This represents the country of birth of the mother of the bishop, [[Sweden]]. | |||
