The first and fourth quarter show the arms of [[Baden (State)|Baden]], the second a crosier for the Herrenalb Abbey, and the third the arms of [[Württemberg]]. The village belonged until 1232 to Baden, from 1232-1555 to Herrenalb, from 1555-1603 to Württemberg and from 1603-1945 again to Baden.
