===Origin/meaning===
The arms show the lion of the Pfalz, holding the arms of the Leysser of Lambsheim family. Lambsheim received city rights in 1323 and the oldest seals show only the lion of the Pfalz. In the middle of the 17th century the small shield was added. The arms were officially granted in 1841, but with the colours of the small shield in red and black. These, wrong, colours were corrected to the present arms in 1928.
