In 1956 the arms below were proposed, with only the wheel of Mainz in reversed colours and the letter A. This was made to avoid confusion of other arms with St. Martin or the silver in red wheel of Mainz. The letter A was also added to make the arms more unique. This proposal was never adopted by the municipality.
