The local patron saint is St. Sebastianus, whose symbol is an arrow. He appeared on the local seal from the 16th-18th century, but the two crossed arrows are used as village symbol and arms since the early 15th century. The arrows appeared first in the local church and later were used on the border stones of the village. In 1895 the arms were shown as red in a golden shield, and after 1945 the village used as arms the whole image of St. Sebastianus, taken from the seal. The historical arms and colours were finally restored in 1966.
