In the late 19th century also arms appeared with only the divided shield of Lübeck and Hamburg, see below, these were the arms of the former Amt Bergedorf. The Amt Bergedorf was ruled jointly by the two cities from 1420-1867, when the Amt was only ruled by Hamburg. The seal of the Amt was designed in 1620 when the two cities appointed a special Amtmann (governor).

The Amt Bergedorf was ruled jointly by the two cities from 1420-1867, when the Amt was only ruled by Hamburg. The Amt included the city of Bergedorf and some surrounding municipalities/villages. The seal of the Amt was designed in 1620 when the two cities appointed a special Amtmann (governor).
