Leander was in Greek Mythology Hero's lover. He drowned trying to swim the Hellespont. As Captain of Leander at the Battle of the Nile (Lotus Flowers) in 1795 Vice Admiral Thomas Thompson (1767-1828) shows an Arms and Lance in his Arms. The Badge was approved on 15 April 1930.
