The Lion holds the Badge of the King's Own Yorkshire Light infantry (Fifty-Frist of Foot) alluding to the original Name of the Submarine P51. The Mottoes translates as "Neither foolhardy nor afraid" ansd "We come unseen". The Badge was approved in 1944.
