The heraldic composition recalls the coat of arms of the Gravelinas Infantry Regiment No. 41, from which the Residence takes its name, which was garrisoned in Badajoz from 1899 to 1931, the year in which it merged with the Castilla Infantry Regiment No. 16. The gules (red) represents the generosity of the Residence in the care of its residents and the lion the support given to the components of the Armed Forces and especially the Army.
