The Badge is based on the Arms of Wiite de With (1599-1658), vice-admioral of the Maas Admirality. He distinguished heimself in Battles against the Dunkrik Pirates and the Portuguese, and in the First Anglo-Dutch War. He lost his life in the Battle of the Sound on 8 November 1658.
