The crossed bayonets, symbolic of military training, are a reference to the regular and reserve members of the Canadian Armed Forces. The stone tomahawk, a weapon used by First Nations in the Canadian west, refers to the facts that much of the unit is located on Treaty 6 land and that it has a long history of collaboration with Indigenous organizations.
