====Origin/meaning====
The arms were officially adopted in 1906.
 
The red cross is the arms of the State of Konstanz, as until 1803 Hohentengen belonged to the State of Konstanz. <br>
The meaning of the oak branch is not clear.
 
The first seal of the village dates from the early 19th century and shows a church or chapel. The second seal from the late 19th century already shows the above combination of cross and oak branch.
