Oberrimsingen was first mentioned as a village in 1275. The village belonged to Breisach and together with the city it became Austrian in 1331. As vassals first the family Von Rimsingen was mentioned, and in 1621 the village was bought by the Lords of Falkenstein. In 1805 it became part of Baden.
