The arms are based on elements from the arms of the different municipalities in the Samtgemeinde. The monolith in the chief is derived from the arms of Lähden. The horn is taken from Herzlake, whereas the thorn bush is taken from Dohren. The wavy division line symbolises the three rivers in the area, the Hasse, Mittel- and Südradde.<br/>
