Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on January 12, 2019.
The star with twelve branches in the center of a green shield symbolizes the clearing of the forest which is at the origin of the village and which makes it today still unique (la Vieille-Loye is one of the only villages in France to be entirely in a clearing). The oak, beech and beech leaves are the three dominant species.
La Vieille-Loye is home to the buildings of one of the oldest glassworks in France, renowned throughout the country and beyond for the quality of its products and especially its bottles which allowed, in Franche-Comté, the conservation of the wine of the Jura.
