English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 16, 2000.
The goat symbolises the importance of goat herding in the municipality and is at the same time a canting symbol for the old informal name of the village. The name was "albergaria das Cabras", or Goat Inn.
The base shows the mountainous character of the region and the Frecha da Mizarela waterfall, a major tourist attraction.
