Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 1, 1999.

The wheel is the symbol of St. Catherine, the local patron saint. The oak trees and the millstone (Rebolo) are canting elements for the village. There are many oaks in the area and they were used to make wheels (reboleiros).
