Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 18, 2000.
The arms show a mountail with a wall on top. This symbolises the hilltop village of Aldeia Velha. The plough symbolises agriculture and the green hill and the sheep the large fertile grazing lands in the municipality.
