Origin/meaning

The arms show a wavy green bend with silver bordure, symbolising the Giegel-Aa andMoosebeeke rivers that run through the municipality. The sheep in the upper half is a canting element (Schaf=sheep). The urn in th elower half symbolises the inhabitation of the area already in prehistoric times.
