Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 13, 1819 and again on November 30, 1838.
The arms appear on the seal from 1649 for Uitbergen and Overmere. The arms are those of the Van Massemen family, who acquired the village in 1312. An image of the arms can also be seen on a map of the area from 1656.
