Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
HERTMANNSWEILER
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Rems-Murr Kreis (until 1973 Waiblingen)
Incorporated into : 1971 Winnenden
Official blazon
In Silber auf grünem Boden ein laubbekränzter, laubbeschürzter wilder Mann mit einer schwarzen Keule.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 16, 1970.
The arms are based on the seal of the village, which was made in the 1920s. The seal showed a savage, but without a shield. After the 2nd World War the savage was placed in a shield on the local seal, but was not used as arms proper. In 1970 the colours were added. The savage is based on the name of the village, although the name has another origin.
