Origin/meaning
The arms were designed and granted on January 28, 1857 and again on July 27, 1959.
The black and silver are derived from the arms of the city of Ulm and blue and silver are the colours of Bayern. The castle symbolises that the town was founded as a border town against Württemberg. The present arm show a much more simplified tower than the previous arms.
