Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
PLIENINGEN
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Stuttgart
Incorporated into : 1942 Stuttgart
Origin/meaning
The oldest known arms of the village dates from 1618 and show in the chief the deer antler of Württemberg and in the lower part two rose bushes, each with two roses. The oldest seal, however, is known from 1773 and shows only the three roses. All later seals show the three roses, the colours were determined in 1920 and formally granted in 1935.
The origin of the roses is not known.
